Remarks
|
The name "ROMSDAL" has always been synonymous with the highest quality North Sea trawlers. Discovery was completely refit from 1996 through 2000 for a reported twelve million dollars. The refit or more accurately, “rebirth”, was to the highest caliber. The visual impact of Discovery is absolutely stunning. The systems & accommodations are incredible. The ability & function of Discovery is without parallel. During her refit a new rolled aluminum superstructure was built and installed using bimetal transition inserts, all tanks tops were exposed and replaced, hull was faired and painted with Sterling paint, the interior materials, cabinetry, and layout were designed by a noted naval architect. All soft materials were specified and installation was overseen by a professional interior designer. The two main engines were replaced by a single Enterprise diesel that was completely rebuilt. All new systems were installed. All decks were teak covered. Electronics were carefully chosen to suit this vessel and its intended use as a long range yacht. A complete PC based monitoring system for virtually all systems was implemented. The phrase "must be seen to be appreciated" is terribly over-used, but in this case it is most appropriate. Written descriptions and photographs simply cannot do justice to this magnificent yacht. Owners' change in plans present this once in a lifetime opportunity. Don't miss the boat! |
